Thomas was the first child and son born to Joseph Scott and Ann Dupong.
He was born
15 February 1861 at 5:30 A.M. in St Quivox, Ayr, Scotland.
He died around 1935 in Scotland.

When Thomas was born on 5 February 1861 at 5:30 A.M. at Elba Street, Wallacetown, St Quivox, Ayr, Scotland his father Joseph Scott was present at his birth.

In the 1861 census Thomas was a 2 month old living with his parents at Guntous Land, Elba St., St Quivox, Ayr. The family seems to have been in Ireland during the 1871 Scottish census (his younger sister Annie was born there in 1869).

Thomas has not been conclusively found in the 1881 Scottish census, although his parents and siblings can be found living in Ayr. One possibility is a Thomas Scott (b. abt. 1861, Ayr) living at 145 Blackburn St., Govan Church, Lancashire employed as a House Joiner in the home of John Montgomery ( an A. B. Seaman) and his wife Margaret. By the 1891 census Thomas had married Agnes Wylie and the family was living in Australia.

Tom and his first wife, Agnes Wylie, had six children: Joseph (b. abt. 1891) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Isabella Jessie (b. abt. 1893) in Melbourne, Australia , Violet May (b. abt. 1896) in Freemantle, Australia, John (b. abt. 1899) in Greenock, Scotland, Annie (b. 1900) in Greenock and Mary (b. 1903) in Greenock.

Annie died at the young age of six months in 1900. And on 20 September 1903 Agnes and Mary, just one month old, both died at 22 Antigua Street, Greenock, Scotland. Annie and Mary are buried with their mother Agnes and paternal grandparents Joseph Scott and Ann Dupong in Greenock Cemetery.

After Agnes' death, Thomas married Jessie MacDonald. Tom and Jessie had two children Thomas and Cissie (Isabella Eaglesham?). We have very little information about Tom Jr. and Cis (Cissie). Cissie was known to family in Scotland and Canada. Thomas Jr.'s descendants are believed to be in the United States.

Thomas worked in Australia in the 1890s but by the 1901 census, he had returned to Greenock, Scotland. His occupation was listed as a diver and rigger. He subsequently held the position of Deputy Harbourmaster at Princes Pier, Greenock in 1914 then Harbourmaster until 1928.

He lived in Rothesay, Isle of Bute on the Clyde with his wife, son and a daughter. He died about 1935 in Scotland.
