Isabella Tosh Scott Isabella was the second child and first daughter born to William Scott and Mariah Anderson. She was born on the 7 th August 1909.
She d
ied in 1989 .

Ella, as everyone knew her, married Robert (Bobby) Molloy in 1963. Theirs was a long engagement-28years. They postponed their marriage due to the failing health of Ella’s mother eventually marrying after her death.

She worked in the family business -a “sweetie shop” (candy store).

Ella’s nieces Jean and Gill Scott ( Greenock ), nephews Ronald and Gordon Ramsay (Port Glasgow) Bill and Jim Scott ( Edinburgh ) all have affectionate memories of times spent with their Aunt Ella.

She was great fun, enjoyed a gamble and placed bets for us children in the big horse racing events. Bingo was another of her pastimes.

Gill also remembers going to watch wrestling bouts - especially the one with American Ricky Starr. Jean and Gill also used to accompany her to watch Ronald and Gordon compete in swimming galas. Another family tradition was the annual visit to the fairground in June for rides while Aunt Ella happily played “housey-housey”(bingo). For Jean and Gill too, there were Sunday meals and the prospect of finding lucky silver threepenny pieces wrapped in greaseproof paper (which always landed up on a child’s plate) in the apple dumpling.

Aunt Ella also enjoyed her “Woodbines”(a brand of cigarette)

Jim remembers her before church on a Sunday putting on her hat (no doubt a green one because everything she had in was her favourite colour) while smoking a last cigarette.

In later years, then happily married, Ella and Bobby holidayed many times in Spain and in Washington State , USA with Anderson relatives.
