Born February 22 1908 at 7:45 pm at #5 William Street, Port Glasgow, Scotland.
Died between 5 am and 6 am on October 15 1972 in Moosejaw, Saskachewan.
Son of Hugh Dupong Scott and Elizabeth Logan.
He emigrated to Canada from Scotland in July 1918.
He married Jemima (Mima) Broach Campbell on July 18 1936 and they had three children: Eleanor, Bill Jr. and Barbara Ann .
Known as "Willie" to family, "Bill" to friends and business associates and "Papa" to his grandchildren.
Prior to WWII he worked for Imperial Oil Company in Montreal, during WWII he was a Stoker Petty Officer in the "RCNVR", he served in this capacity on Canadian Corvettes, most notably the "HMCS Sherbrooke". His theatre of service included Canada and the high seas. Among his medals and decorations he received a "Mention-In-Despatch" for distinguished service.
Upon his return from the War he worked for May Construction Company before starting his own business "Scott Tank Cleaning Company" in 1957.
Dad enjoyed "Hockey Night in Canada" being partial to the Boston Bruins and he was also an original member of the "Hot Stove Lounge" in Maple Leaf Gardens.
He spent most of his free time between his two homes; one located at 885 Porcupine Ave., Mississauga, where he enjoyed a Sunday night game of Bridge with his wife, Mima, and good friends, Dr. James Love and his wife Elspeth. He was also a member of the Credit Valley Golf and Country Club.
His other home was located on Cedar Ave. in Rawdon, Quebec and that is where he enjoyed a game of golf at the Rawdon Golf Club.
Among some of his other pleasures were a nice cup of tea (strong enough to stand a spoon in), a drink of Canadian Club and water, sweets and most definitely anything his wife cooked, particularly her lentil soup.
His birth date of February 22 is also shared by his daughter Barbara Ann and his grandson (Barbara Ann's son) Brent Charles Allen , whom he never saw because he died while on a jobsite in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. He is buried with his wife, Mima, at Springcreek Cemetery in Mississauga.
