Dedicated to Uncle Greg

August 4th 2011

I have cried many nights
I have cried many days
But my heart keeps telling me
To look beyond all the haze

As I walk through the darkness
It’s becoming more and more clear
For I can now hear your laughter
I know you are near

I’m running! I’m running!
Away from the gloom
Oh wow! Do you see?
The flowers, they’re starting to bloom

You let out a joke
And I look all around
I know you are somewhere,
Waiting to be found

Continue to guide me
I’ll follow your voice
I have to find you
You have left me no choice

I am tired now
I need to relax
Please wait one more moment
While I lay on my back

I rest my head down
Slowly, I open my eyes
Wow I must say
I am quite surprised

The sky is blue now
Where have all the clouds gone?
I have been longing to escape the shade
For so long

There you are, I see you!
You’ve lit up the skies
You’ve brightened my life
With your shimmering eyes

I’ve found peace in my heart
Because I know you are with me
Not only today and tomorrow
But for the rest of my journey

So when the days are dark
And I am feeling down
I will look to the sky
I will not look to the ground

I know you’ll be up there
Just waiting to shine
Smiling, as you guide me through
This wonderful life of mine.
